The 18th century building is actually dedicated to the production of wine of Carcavelos “Villa Oeiras” in a partnership between the municipality of Oeiras and the Ministry of Agriculture.
Its history blends with the ancient production of Carcavelos wine, whose very renown is due to the Marquis de Pombal. Today there are modern methods of vinification, in the search for excellence. The winery takes an octagonal plant. The north side of the building is the production area, and in the South it’s the “wine aging area”.
