The restaurant “Caravela D' Ouro” is a cozy space, located in the garden of Algés, right next to the Tagus river. There's no lack of parking nor a good cook planning, because “Dona Maria” – shows daily all her talent renovating and innovating the set of good choices (menu).

The 18th century building is actually dedicated to the production of wine of Carcavelos “Villa Oeiras” in a partnership between the municipality of Oeiras and the Ministry of Agriculture.
Its history blends with the ancient production of Carcavelos wine, whose very renown is due to the Marquis de Pombal. Today there are modern methods of vinification, in the search for excellence. The winery takes an octagonal plant. The north side of the building is the production area, and in the South it’s the “wine aging area”.
Don Pavili was an idea of three partners: a Portuguese and two Italians--all of them engineers. Pedro Mendanha, Michele Pavan and Andrea Mansili met in 2009 when they were studying engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon.
The two Italians were doing Erasmus. They became friends and Peter eventually go do Erasmus also in Italy. The name Don Pavili is the junction of the short form of their family names: "pav", Pavan; "ili", Mansili; and "don" was for Pedro. The ice creams are all made during the morning in the kitchen and there are two types of artisanal confection: snow cones (which only have water, sugar and fruit) and ice cream (that take milk or yogurt). The area of 55 square meters is close to 5 October Square, in the historic centre of Oeiras (right behind the Auditorium Eunice Muñoz). This is a strategic location, because the most closely site with artisanal ice cream it’s placed in Cascais or Carcavelos.

The Marquis de Pombal Palace or Palace of the Count of Oeiras is a typical 18th century Manor House.
It is located in the historic centre of Oeiras. Built by Hungarian architect Carlos Mardel in the 2nd half of the 18th century, the Palace served as the official residence of Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo also known as count of Oeiras and Marquis of Pombal. The Palace and gardens are characterised by architectural and artistic elements (stuccoes, tiles, statues, etc.) rare and of great beauty. Gardens and palace were characterized by a strict geometrismo, in order to articulate the recreational (gardens and woods) and profitable (a country estate) aspects. In the so-called “Quinta de Baixo” there is the Palace, the gardens and the wine cellar. This farm was linked to Quinta de Cima or Quinta Grande by a central axis designated as avenue or laurels’ street. Currently “Quinta de Baixo” is owned by the municipality of Oeiras and “Quinta de Cima” is owned by the Republic Government. At this place is now fitted the INIAV (National Institute of Agrarian and Veterinary Research). All this set that includes Palace and Gardens is classified as a national monument.
